As part of the ATOM (Aerospace Testing, Operations and Maintenance) contract, you will support critical operations at a leading aerospace research facility. Your role will involve contributing to one of the world's premier arc-jet test facilities, essential for every NASA mission that involves entering a planetary atmosphere.

The role of the Computer Systems Security Analyst necessitates a comprehensive understanding of federal security regulations, standards, and processes, including FISMA, FIPS, FedRAMP, and NIST guidelines. A solid grasp of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, and authorization is essential, along with experience in reviewing and generating mitigation reports from compliance and vulnerability assessment tools.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Evaluate and communicate efficiency opportunities and intricacies. Identify gaps and collaborate closely with various stakeholders to address Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs).
2. Demonstrated success in managing the assessment, deployment, and accreditation of information systems.
3. Cultivate and maintain relationships with stakeholders throughout the assessment and accreditation processes.
4. Review and produce comprehensive technical documentation regarding the security posture of information systems throughout their development lifecycle.
5. Conduct continuous monitoring through scheduled audits, controls testing, and audit reviews, escalating issues as necessary. Track POAM deadlines and ensure stakeholders can remediate or escalate issues for discussion.
6. Document and verify compliance with mandated security policies.
7. Enter data related to system security plans, POA&Ms, and Risk-Based Decisions (RBDs).
8. Provide support and training for RSA Archer/RISCS users, including inline and bulk-editing functionalities.
9. Develop policies, procedures, and standards for the secure deployment and maintenance of IT systems for internal management and technical guidance.
10. Contribute concise written input for monthly or other management-required reports.

Essential Functions of the Position

Special Physical Requirements:

Assignments may vary across multiple workstations (office, test facility, control room, laboratory, etc.). Transportation of notebooks, drawings, forms, and sensors is necessary. Ability to hear normal conversations is required. Vision must be correctable to 20/20 in at least one eye, with the ability to distinguish colors on basic panel displays and wiring. Proficiency in handling small and delicate instruments and wiring is essential.

Work Environment:

Work is conducted in an office, control room, and various test facility buildings. Movement between these areas is required, along with occasional visits to client or user facilities. Some work environments may have elevated noise levels.

Equipment Utilized:

Office and control room equipment includes computers, calculators, electronic instruments, mechanical instruments, and various precision measuring devices.

Attendance Requirements:

Standard working hours are from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. A compressed schedule with nine-hour days and every other Friday off is available. Some tasks may be performed remotely, but occasional site visits will be necessary based on assignments.

Additional Essential Functions:

Must be able to obtain necessary security clearances and access to work facilities.

The salary range for this position is between $112,000 and $130,300. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all US locations. Individual pay within this range is determined by work location and other factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems/IT, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
2. Over 5 years of experience in roles such as ISSO, ISSM, Cybersecurity Engineer/Analyst, or RISC Analyst.
3. Familiarity with federal security regulations, standards, and processes including FISMA, FIPS, FedRAMP, and NIST guidelines.
4. Strong understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, and authorization.
5. Experience in reviewing and creating mitigation reports from compliance and vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, SCAP).
6. Proficiency with Governance, Risk, and Compliance tools and technologies such as RSA Archer.
7. Excellent writing skills for clear communication of all related documentation and analysis.
8. Self-motivated, customer-oriented, and an effective communicator with the ability to work independently.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Visio.
10. Must be able to obtain necessary security clearances and access to facilities as required by the employer.
