POSITION SUMMARY

The Furniture Assembly Specialist is responsible for fabricating and assembling various furniture components, including doors, drawers, wall cases, base units, hardware, and locks, by executing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Marking reference points on components for accurate assembly.
  • Operating machinery such as pneumatic drivers and stacking machines to assemble components to precise specifications.
  • Fitting and assembling components efficiently.
  • Insulating doors with specified materials as required.
  • Installing glass components as necessary.
  • Packing completed units according to customer specifications.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform basic mathematical operations and interpret various data formats.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions and solve problems in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This role requires regular standing, reaching, and the ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasional vibrations, with a generally quiet noise level.
