About the Position:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Brown University as an Executive Sous Chef of Residential Dining. As a key member of the dining services team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily administrative, operational, and culinary tasks, including financial management, sanitation, safety, and menu development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the culinary team, ensuring seamless execution of daily operations
  • Develop and implement innovative menu concepts that meet the diverse needs of the university community
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations, safety protocols, and quality standards, maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Monitor sales and expenses to adhere to budget, making data-driven decisions to optimize financial performance

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in culinary arts or equivalent, with a strong foundation in food safety and sanitation
  • 5-7 years of culinary leadership experience, with a proven track record of success in managing high-performing teams
  • RI Food Safety Manager Certification, with a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
