Job Overview:

The role of the Manufacturing Process Specialist involves the design, development, and evaluation of production methodologies utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles. This position is crucial for creating process documentation that supports all manufacturing operations. Your practical experience will be essential in implementing efficient and capable processes for low volume, high mix electronic repair and assembly, as well as logistics processes in alignment with business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess reverse logistics production workflows to enhance efficiency, focusing on processes such as cosmetic evaluations, device refurbishment, programming, component testing, and final assembly assessments.
  • Employ Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, & Excel) for editing, updating, and generating production documentation and process evaluations.
  • Conduct time studies to establish baseline processes and lead or engage in Lean/Six Sigma improvement projects.
  • Assist manufacturing operations with device failure validation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Materials teams to resolve component-related issues and identify alternative sourcing options.
  • Analyze production metrics and interpret findings to guide Lean improvement strategies.
  • Design and develop tools and fixtures to enhance process efficiencies.
  • Plan manufacturing facility layouts to optimize throughput, yield, and quality.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on product returns and repair process failures.
  • Identify and communicate deficiencies and potential enhancements to the department Supervisor.
  • Proactively seek and pursue Lean process improvement opportunities.
  • Facilitate Lean Six Sigma project management initiatives across the facility.
  • Lead analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts, mentoring others in these practices.
  • Work closely with plant leadership, customers, suppliers, and production staff to identify and implement projects aimed at improving key performance indicators (KPIs).
Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

Associate's degree with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant industry experience, including proficiency in interpreting complex schematics, layouts, and customer specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic assembly and logistics environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Experience with Lean 5S and Six Sigma statistical process control methodologies preferred
  • Familiarity with Minitab, Visio, AdobePro, or AutoCAD preferred
