Job Summary

The Department of Education-School for the Deaf-Fremont is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Office Support Specialist to join our team. As an Office Support Specialist, you will provide administrative support to our staff and ensure the smooth operation of our office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to staff, including answering phones, responding to emails, and preparing correspondence.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files.
  • Assist with data entry, typing, and other clerical tasks.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, such as preparing reports, presentations, and other documents.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, parents, and staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in an administrative role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) or willingness to learn.
  • Experience with data entry and record-keeping.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced office environment and may be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
