About the Role

The Certified Medication Aide, CMA, is a vital member of our care team at Trinity Oaks of Pearland. This role involves dispensing medications under the direction of the Resident Care Director and assisting residents with activities of daily living, such as hygiene, toileting, feeding, and mobility. The ideal candidate will have a genuine desire to help others and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense medications under the direction of a licensed nurse according to established procedures.
  • Assist residents with all personal care functions as needed.
  • Help residents at mealtimes and monitor their eating habits.
  • Assist residents to and from daily activities.
  • Clean and organize the resident's room and assist with laundry.
  • Measure and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, etc., and report any changes in condition.
  • Ensure that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Communicate with residents and families regarding care.
  • Attend all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Supervise the residents' medications under the direction of the Resident Care Director according to established procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with further training to achieve certification.
  • Certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in this state.
  • Certified as Registered Medication Aide in this state, preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in an assisted living community preferred.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications a plus.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, which may include working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation

$14.50 an hour

$2500 sign-on bonus (will be paid out throughout the year)
