The Chief Business Officer is responsible for overseeing the essential components of the organization: systems, performance metrics, data management, and analytics. Collaborating with the leadership team, you will facilitate intelligent growth strategies and operations while adhering to the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to ensure consistency and accountability across all levels of leadership and throughout the organization. Progress is monitored using EOS frameworks, with agreed-upon metrics for evaluation.

In 2023, Nest DC restructured our service delivery model to enhance efficiency, profitability, and reputation. This redesign is supported by investments in brand strategy, marketing initiatives, and robust vendor partnerships.
Performance Objectives:
- Develop and implement a dashboard to monitor progress toward key objectives and key results (OKRs) as well as vital organizational metrics: Lifetime Customer Value (LTCV), Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), profit margins, client demographics, growth modeling, and competitive insights.
- Facilitate portfolio expansion by supporting accelerated growth and anticipating new property acquisitions monthly. The Chief Business Officer ensures that staffing, systems, and resources are aligned with increased client volumes.
- Implement EOS by the end of the designated period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate a comprehensive business strategy for Maryland and the expansion of co-living spaces, including market analysis, staffing needs, budgeting, competitive landscape, marketing strategies, and projected investment-to-revenue potential.
- Monitor portfolio composition and adjust client targeting as sales increase, while developing an offboarding strategy.
- Oversee performance review processes and their application.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure operational efficiency and alignment with financial objectives.
- Stay informed about market and industry developments and opportunities.
- Assess the feasibility of Nest managing converted properties in key areas.
- Manage the budget and expenditures for corporate operations, marketing, community engagement, and employee benefits.
- Co-create internal and external communication strategies, establishing workflows and responsibilities to maintain consistent communication standards.
- Negotiate partnerships and affiliate agreements.
- Supervise senior-level staff and oversee standard operating procedures and service design.
- Monitor team performance metrics, including key performance indicators (KPIs), reputation, profitability, and efficiency.
- Philanthropic Integration: Align our philanthropic initiatives, such as birdSEED, with the company’s commitment to empathy and justice, making a meaningful impact in the communities we serve.
- Support ongoing philanthropic efforts and engage vendors in contributing to birdSEED initiatives.
- Manage technology stack and evaluate tools.
- Oversee sales and onboarding processes.
- Design and implement a reputation management strategy to enhance Nest's online presence, aiming for a 4+ star rating across targeted review platforms.
- Client Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with property owners, investors, and stakeholders, setting clear expectations across all teams.
- Implement effective communication strategies and standards, ensuring timely responses and resolutions.
- Facilitate client and resident engagement to enhance satisfaction.
