POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Operations Supervisor II is responsible for overseeing and directing the sanitation crew's activities, managing the budget (including payroll and supplies), and invoicing customers for services provided. The primary responsibility includes the daily management of operations, which encompasses interviewing, hiring, training, adjusting pay rates and hours, planning and directing work, maintaining sales, addressing team member complaints and grievances, and determining effective sanitation techniques to ensure compliance with governmental and customer specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To qualify for the Operations Supervisor II position, candidates must be capable of performing the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Develops and implements strategies for operational management to meet performance, safety, timeliness, and budgetary requirements.
  • Controls site expenditures within approved budgets.
  • Manages labor, supplies, and chemical usage on-site to meet P&L standards.
  • Evaluates sanitation processes for potential cost savings, providing detailed documentation to support recommendations.
  • Monitors and reports on operational issues, opportunities, and improvement plans within agreed formats and timelines.
  • Maintains daily communication with the Area Manager regarding accidents, downtime, damages, and other critical plant issues.
  • Communicates daily with the Corporate office about items such as nightly logs, payroll, chemical and supply orders, and timesheets.
  • Conducts weekly internal safety audits for staff and equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Sets and tracks specific goals for the sanitation crew regarding safety, cleanliness, and timeliness.
  • Manages and develops direct reports, including interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, motivating, evaluating, and addressing team member complaints and grievances.
  • Ensures compliance with all internal company procedures and policies.
  • Implements training programs, including safety training and emergency response protocols.
  • Coordinates responses to any governmental or customer deficiencies.
  • Reports and investigates all accidents, monitoring the treatment of injured team members.
  • Acts as a liaison with customers and regulatory agencies as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic; six months to one year of relevant sanitation experience; general proficiency with computers/technology; ability to wear personal protective equipment; and capability to work in environments with extreme temperature variations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent, strong communication skills, experience in recruiting and interviewing, attention to detail, safety-oriented mindset, results-driven approach, accountability, and leadership qualities.
