Position Overview

American Foods Group, LLC is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic II to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the operational efficiency of our facilities.

As a Maintenance Mechanic II, your responsibilities will include:

  • Executing various welding techniques, including tig, stick, and mig welding.
  • Conducting intermediate plumbing tasks, such as installing and maintaining piping systems.
  • Identifying and sourcing parts from machinery manuals or parts catalogs for equipment like conveyors, saws, and rail switches.
  • Performing routine preventive maintenance, including greasing bearings, lubricating machinery, checking fluid levels, and replacing filters to maintain smooth operations.
  • Assembling, installing, or repairing plumbing and mechanical equipment to ensure the integrity of our facilities.
  • Carrying out basic maintenance on forklifts and hydraulic systems.
  • Completing necessary documentation, including preventive maintenance sheets and work orders.
  • Assisting with maintenance on scale equipment in designated areas.
  • Reporting any malfunctions or required repairs to your supervisor.
  • Note: This description is not exhaustive; additional related duties may be assigned as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with hand and power tools, along with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Capability to work in diverse environmental conditions, including varying temperatures and heights, while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including overtime as necessary, based on production demands.
  • Successful completion of safety and quality training programs is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous maintenance experience in a USDA-inspected facility.
  • Recent work history within the last year.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient in basic welding techniques, with the ability to assess weld quality.
