Overview

American Foods Group, LLC is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic II to join our team.

In the role of Maintenance Mechanic II, your responsibilities will include:

  • Executing various welding techniques including tig, stick, and mig welding.
  • Conducting intermediate plumbing tasks, such as installing and maintaining piping systems.
  • Identifying and sourcing parts and part numbers from machinery manuals or parts catalogs for equipment like Cryovac, overhead chains, rail switches, and conveyors.
  • Performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure machinery operates efficiently and the physical condition of facilities is maintained.
  • Assembling, installing, or repairing plumbing and machinery to ensure operational integrity.
  • Carrying out basic maintenance on forklifts.
  • Handling basic hydraulic systems.
  • Completing necessary documentation including preventive maintenance sheets and work orders.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of scale equipment in designated areas.
  • Reporting any malfunctions or required repairs to the lead or supervisor.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Must be capable of working in various environmental conditions, including warm, hot, humid, cold, and wet settings, while using personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including overtime, as needed based on production demands.
  • Must successfully complete training in safety protocols, quality food standards, good manufacturing practices, and other operational procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous maintenance experience in a USDA inspected facility.
  • Relevant work history within the last year.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in basic welding techniques, with the ability to assess weld quality.
