Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Program Specialist. As a key member of our SPARK Early Literacy program, you will play a vital role in providing one-on-one tutoring sessions to K5-3rd grade students who are struggling with reading skills.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed lesson plans for assigned students, ensuring a tailored approach to meet their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with the SPARK program team to enhance your tutoring skills and stay up-to-date on best practices in early literacy instruction.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in mandatory trainings and professional development opportunities to further your skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the development of literacy materials and activities to enhance session skill building.
  • Provide guidance and direction to students in areas such as academic success, healthy lifestyles, social emotional learning, and civic engagement.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Experience working with students in grades K5-3rd, with a focus on early literacy instruction.
  • Ability to adapt teaching style and beliefs to align with the SPARK program.
  • Prior experience collaborating as a team player and ability to take direction.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to motivate and encourage students to improve their skills.
