Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Education Program Coordinator II to join our team in Academic Affairs. As the Education Program Coordinator II - Student Accommodations and Learning Specialist, you will play a critical role in executing assigned program activities and coordinating daily administrative and program activities of academic enrichment programs and services, and student accommodation services, to support student success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Academic Support and Enrichment team to monitor and improve student academic progress on all campuses (Central Wisconsin, Green Bay, Milwaukee) and all programs (e.g., Medical, Pharmacy, Master of Science in Anesthesia, Graduate)
  • Provide meeting and progress notes for student issues at all campuses/programs to the program manager
  • Coordinate and provide logistical support and technical support to all academic student services programs for learning events and activities
  • Contribute to development and implementation of new supplemental educational programs to meet the needs of students
  • Support activities related to accreditation requirements to ensure full compliance with a high degree of independence
  • Serve as secondary liaison with faculty, administration, other MCW departments, affiliated institutions, outside institutions, and national organizations
Student Accommodation Support
  • Operationalize and maintain a centralized entry point and approach for the management of student accommodations
  • Create centralized approach for data management for students accommodations
  • Liaise with appropriate representatives across MCW schools to make determinations about requested accommodations
  • Work with individual students to operationalize approved accommodations; monitor continued effectiveness of approved accommodations
  • Create and maintain resource list for students who require additional documentation for accommodation requests
  • Construct informational resources (e.g., websites, announcements, e-mails, etc.) for students
  • Construct informational resources (e.g., websites, announcements, e-mails, etc.) for faculty and staff involved in provision of accommodations in the learning environment
  • Liaise with MCW Equal Access Office to receive and provide related training
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory, needs assessments, accommodation and accessibility services, curriculum development and evaluation, emerging trends and best practices in education and professional development, teaching methods, techniques/styles, learning styles, coaching, consultation, project management and cultural awareness
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, regulations in higher education
  • Customer focus, building trust, communication, critical thinking, and influencing skills
  • At least 1 year of experience providing direct support to adult learners with disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), conducting disability eligibility analyses, providing referrals, approving reasonable accommodations, and connecting individuals with services to support their academic goals
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience providing tutoring support, study skills assistance, time management strategies or other learning support instruction
  • Knowledge of learning theory and higher education, adult learners, and post-secondary professional students
  • Experience working with students experiencing academic challenges
  • Knowledge and understanding of ADA regulations, guidelines, and standards as applicable to an academic and/or workplace setting
