Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist PRN Specialist to join our team at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for providing expert analysis and interpretation of patient results, ensuring accurate and timely testing, and maintaining high-quality standards in our laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing, analyzing proficiency testing samples according to instructions and completing tasks within established turnaround time targets.
  • Assume responsibility of the department as appropriate in the absence of the supervisor, ensuring seamless operation and continuity of services.
  • Complete all required records/documentation pertaining to patient results, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets, prioritizing urgent tasks and ensuring timely delivery of results.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use good judgment and independent thinking in the correlation and interpretation of patient results, including performing delta checks and resolving any outstanding workload or communicating to staff relief.
  • Review pending logs (OSR) and result logs, resolving any outstanding workload or communicating to staff relief.
  • Perform quality control procedures per protocol, handling all problem and/or critical laboratory specimens/test results.
Requirements
  • A 2 Year/Associate Degree is required; a 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist is preferred.
  • A State of Florida Technologist License is required or the ability to obtain a license during the interview process.
  • Technologist License in one or more clinical specialty areas, including Generalist, Blood bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology.
