As a Certified Surgical Technologist, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, playing a crucial role in delivering safe and effective patient care within the operating room. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing direct patient care and observation.
  • Scrubbing and assisting the surgeon during procedures.
  • Managing the turnover of the surgical room between cases.
  • Collecting and documenting relevant clinical data in patient records.
  • Collaborating with the Registered Nurse in clinical decision-making.
Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will be expected to:
  • Exhibit the necessary practical and technical skills as outlined by the Association of Surgical Technologists.
  • Prepare the surgical suite by checking and gathering necessary supplies and instruments.
  • Maintain surgical asepsis during the handling of instruments and materials.
  • Assist in cleaning and preparing the operating room between procedures.
  • Set up the procedure room for the following day and report any supply needs to your supervisor.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should possess:
  • A degree from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Surgical Tech Certification.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in an operating room environment, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
  • A valid BCLS Certification upon employment.
