We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist PRN to join our team at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for providing expert analysis and interpretation of patient results, ensuring accurate and timely testing, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex laboratory testing and analysis, including proficiency testing samples, to ensure accurate and timely results.
- Assume responsibility for the department in the absence of the supervisor, ensuring seamless operation and continuity of care.
- Complete all required records and documentation, including patient results, to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets, ensuring timely and efficient results.
- Demonstrate expertise in the correlation and interpretation of patient results, using good judgment and independent thinking to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Review pending logs and result logs, resolving any outstanding workload or communicating with staff relief to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Perform quality control procedures per protocol, handling all problem and/or critical laboratory specimens/test results with precision and attention to detail.
- A 2 Year/Associate Degree in Medical Technology or a related field is required.
- A 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist is preferred.
- A State of Florida Technologist License is required, or the ability to obtain a license during the interview process.
- Technologist License in one or more clinical specialty areas, including Blood bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology, is highly preferred.
