Position Overview

Cyber Security Innovations (CSI) is in search of a Senior Zero Trust Information Security Officer (ISSO) to provide expert support for our federal clientele. The ISSO will possess substantial experience in ensuring compliance with FISMA regulations applicable to the federal sector. This role entails overseeing Security Authorization processes in alignment with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800 series guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and revise security documentation for Zscaler and Zero Trust implementations, including but not limited to Security Plans, Contingency Plans, and Business Impact Analyses.
  • Ensure that systems are regularly updated and fortified against vulnerabilities.
  • Coordinate the remediation of Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M) across various teams.
  • Support the Ongoing Authorization Program effectively.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Perform ISSO duties such as approving change requests, reviewing audit logs, and analyzing vulnerability assessments.
  • Develop waivers and exceptions for identified security vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with clients to create capability briefings and presentations.
  • Provide security recommendations to the Risk Management Branch Chief.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen capable of obtaining an agency-specific suitability or public trust clearance.
  • Proximity to the client's location is required for a hybrid work schedule.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of professional experience.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Zscaler or Zero Trust technologies.
  • Possession of one or more of the following certifications is mandatory: CASP, GSEC, GSLC, CISSP, CEH, CISM, CISA, Security+.
  • 7+ years of experience in:
    • Security, Compliance, and Risk Management design and implementation.
    • US Government compliance standards, including NIST, FedRAMP, and FISMA.
    • Managing Certification and Accreditation and continuous monitoring activities.
    • Overseeing the security posture of cloud environments and collaborating with engineering teams for remediation.
    • Risk mitigation and selection of appropriate security controls.
    • Coordinating security activities across multiple organizations.
    • Agile or DevOps methodologies in design and development.
    • Creating scripts and dashboards.
    • CI/CD development pipelines.
    • Programming in languages such as Java or Python.
    • Utilizing container/orchestration tools.
  • Experience with:
    • Cloud security concepts and their implementation.
    • Engineering systems in cloud environments, particularly AWS, Azure, or Google.
    • Core services and policy management in relation to cloud resources.
    • Transforming legacy solutions to cloud-based architectures.
    • Advising on cloud designs that meet US Government standards.

Preferred Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Cloud Computing technologies and migration challenges.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients.
  • Basic understanding of Zero Trust principles.
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure) are advantageous.
