Position Overview

Cyber Security Innovations (CSI) is in search of a Senior Zero Trust Information Security Officer (ISSO) to support our federal clientele. The ISSO will possess substantial experience in ensuring compliance with FISMA regulations for government entities. This role encompasses managing Security Authorization tasks for our clients in alignment with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800 series.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Craft and revise security documentation pertinent to Zscaler and Zero Trust frameworks, including but not limited to Security Plans, Contingency Plans, and Business Impact Analyses.
  • Guarantee that systems are adequately patched and fortified against vulnerabilities.
  • Oversee the remediation processes for Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M) in collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the Ongoing Authorization Program to ensure continuous compliance.
  • Effectively relay technical information to personnel without a technical background.
  • Conduct ISSO duties, including approving change requests, reviewing audit logs, and analyzing vulnerability assessments.
  • Formulate waivers and exceptions for identified information system vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with clients to create and deliver capability briefings and presentations.
  • Provide security recommendations to the Risk Management Branch Chief.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory, with the ability to secure an agency-specific suitability or public trust clearance.
  • Proximity to the client's location is essential for a hybrid work schedule.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Zscaler or Zero Trust technologies.
  • Possession of one or more of the following certifications is required: CASP, GSEC, GSLC, CISSP, CEH, CISM, CISA, Security+.
  • 7+ years of experience in:
    • Security, Compliance, and Risk Management design and implementation.
    • Understanding U.S. Government compliance standards, including NIST and FedRAMP.
    • Managing Certification and Accreditation processes and continuous monitoring.
    • Overseeing the security posture of cloud environments and collaborating with engineering teams for remediation.
    • Risk mitigation and the selection of appropriate security controls.
    • Coordinating security activities across various organizations.
    • Utilizing Agile or DevOps methodologies in development processes.
    • Creating scripts and dashboards.
    • CI/CD development pipelines.
    • Programming in languages such as Java or Python.
    • Using container and orchestration tools.
  • Experience with:
    • Implementing cloud security concepts and requirements.
    • Engineering systems in cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or Google.
    • Managing core services and security policies in relation to cloud resources.
    • Transforming legacy solutions to cloud-based architectures.
    • Advising on cloud designs that meet U.S. Government standards.

Preferred Skills:

  • Deep understanding of Cloud Computing technologies and migration challenges.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients.
  • Basic knowledge of Zero Trust implementations.
  • Cloud certifications such as AWS or Azure are advantageous.
