GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Speech and Language Pathologist is responsible for providing assessment, intervention, and support services for students facing challenges in language, speech, voice, and fluency. This role aims to facilitate students' educational success through tailored strategies and collaborative practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Valid Michigan Speech-Language Pathology License.
  2. Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
  3. Endorsement to work with students with speech and language impairments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Commit to equity, social justice, and inclusion in all professional practices.
  • Implement Trauma-Informed Care Practices to support students and families.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Utilize various assessment tools to evaluate student progress and performance.
  • Assess communication skills to develop effective intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with educational teams to enhance literacy development.
  • Consult with teams to raise awareness of communication disorders and their effects on learning.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to identify communication disorders and recommend services.
  • Educate staff on communicative disorders and intervention strategies.
  • Employ diverse instructional strategies aligned with learning objectives.
  • Use formative assessments to guide instruction for students with communication challenges.
  • Analyze assessment data to refine interventions and support educational goals.
  • Provide services that leverage individual strengths and encourage student engagement in their learning.
  • Coordinate meetings for eligible students to discuss evaluations and intervention plans.
  • Research and implement effective resources and methods for student needs.
  • Handle billing functions for Medicaid reimbursement.
  • Engage in professional development and maintain certification.
  • Protect student confidentiality in compliance with legal standards.
  • Work collaboratively with parents and staff to adapt learning activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and services.
  • Ensure a safe and conducive work environment.
  • Exhibit professionalism and collegiality in all interactions.
  • Support the vision and mission of the educational institution.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
