Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated 5th Grade Language Arts Teacher to join our team at the Archdiocese of Detroit. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a rigorous, standards-based curriculum that promotes academic excellence and fosters a love of learning in our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive language arts program that aligns with the Archdiocese of Detroit's academic standards and promotes critical thinking, reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Classroom Instruction: Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring that all students have access to high-quality education.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and administer assessments to measure student progress and understanding, providing constructive feedback to inform instruction and drive student growth.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting a culture of mutual respect, trust, and open communication.
  • Professional Growth and Development: Stay current with best practices in language arts education, participating in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay abreast of curriculum changes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a language arts setting.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Valid teaching certification and/or licensure in the state of Michigan.
