The on-site restaurant, Avec Nous, features a menu that highlights classic Southern French cuisine, enhanced by fresh California ingredients and innovative culinary techniques.

Position Responsibilities:

The Public Area Attendant plays a crucial role in upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and safety across all public and back-of-house spaces. This position is also responsible for ensuring that the Spa and Fitness Center are tidy, well-stocked, and equipped with all necessary amenities.

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
  • Foster positive guest relations by anticipating needs and responding promptly.
  • Be knowledgeable about hotel services, features, and local attractions to accurately address guest inquiries.
  • Monitor cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Review assignment sheets and update completed tasks; communicate with supervisors for additional duties.
  • Conduct general removal of trash and ensure cleanliness of all areas.
  • Restock cleaning supplies in the Fitness Center and Spa.
  • Ensure all storage areas are organized and clean.
  • Utilize appropriate cleaning agents and tools for designated areas.
  • Inspect furniture and fitness equipment for damage and report issues.
  • Dust and polish surfaces, ensuring all areas are free of debris.
  • Clean and maintain all lighting fixtures and check for functionality.
  • Attend to public restrooms, ensuring they are stocked and clean.
  • Report any maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Handle lost and found items according to hotel policy.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to motivate and collaborate with others to achieve goals.
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and hotel data.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, stand, and move with agility.
  • Capability to bend, stoop, and lift items up to 40 lbs.
  • Requires a range of physical activities including grasping, writing, and visual acuity.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years in a similar role within a luxury hotel setting preferred.
  • Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat and professional appearance.
