We are currently seeking a Senior Transmission Line Project Leader to enhance our esteemed team of Power Delivery experts.

Key Responsibilities

In this pivotal role within our established Power Delivery practice, you will oversee transmission line projects across various regions. You should possess prior experience in managing and providing technical guidance on small to medium-sized projects and be prepared to take on a more extensive role in directing larger, more intricate transmission line initiatives. Your ambition to cultivate a high-performing team will be essential in executing these projects successfully.

As a Senior Transmission Line Project Leader, your responsibilities will include:

  • Directing and managing transmission projects throughout their entire lifecycle, including scope development, team formation, project execution, closure, quality assurance, scheduling, and budget oversight.
  • Leading the quality assurance and quality control processes in alignment with HDR's Quality Management Systems (QMS) to ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Occasionally overseeing non-engineering project components, such as public engagement, environmental compliance, right-of-way acquisition, and construction oversight.
  • Utilizing existing company resources to deliver outstanding services to clients in the region.
  • Engaging in client management, project oversight, staff mentoring, and providing technical support as needed.
  • Participating in broader business development initiatives with current and prospective clients in the area.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Established client relationships and experience in the region are highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience in managing and supervising teams.
  • Experience in distribution line design is a plus.
  • Possession of a PE license with the ability to obtain a Michigan PE within six months.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or the ability to secure it within six months, along with familiarity with project management tools such as MSProject.
  • Strong technical background in transmission line and distribution line projects, including routing, permitting, public engagement, and right-of-way acquisition.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of related experience.
  • At least 2 years of project management experience.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various design teams.
