Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Architect/Manager to be a pivotal part of the Facilities Planning and Development (FPD) team. This role involves providing expert consultation and support throughout the project lifecycle, encompassing concept development, planning, budgeting, design, engineering, and construction administration.
Core Responsibilities
As a Senior Project Architect/Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the primary liaison between Facilities Planning and Development and various clinical and support departments, utilizing your understanding of operational dynamics to address challenges and set strategic priorities.
- Conducting thorough reviews and analyses of facility improvement requests, preparing detailed facility investigation reports, and formulating project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Overseeing all facets of project delivery for both owned and leased facilities, ensuring adherence to client expectations and institutional guidelines.
- Managing the completion of programming, design development, and construction documentation, while directly overseeing activation and deactivation activities.
- Coordinating with vendors and support staff for the delivery and installation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment, ensuring all project documentation is accurately archived.
- Directing the activities of retained consultants and contractors, reviewing proposals, and negotiating terms as necessary.
- Providing regular updates to leadership and stakeholders regarding project status, opportunities, and risks, along with preparing necessary documentation for effective communication.
- Supporting ongoing facility assessments and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and building codes.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A professional degree in Architecture or Engineering, accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB).
- A valid Architect license in the State of Michigan is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management and facilities design.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare facility design, construction guidelines, and relevant building codes.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Autodesk AutoCAD.
