Job Responsibilities

This role is essential in furthering the mission of the facility by acting as a liaison between reimbursement personnel and staff, while advocating for individuals regarding their benefits and rights. Counseling services for individuals or their family members may also be required as necessary.

This position is crucial during emergencies or facility needs, and all staff members are expected to work various shifts and/or overtime as required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing Medicaid Renewal documentation
  • Engaging with LDSS representatives to ascertain necessary verifications
  • Collaborating with Reimbursement, Authorized Representatives, and Fiscal departments to provide requested verifications
  • Addressing any modifications in Medicaid benefits
  • Confirming eligibility using monthly benefit reports from Reimbursement
  • Ensuring timely completion of all Medicaid and Social Security forms to prevent lapses in benefits
  • Assisting new admissions with Medicaid applications
  • Filling out Medicaid forms upon an individual's return from skilled nursing facilities

It is essential to work independently while maintaining high-quality performance and organization in a fast-paced, time-sensitive office environment.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in social work is required, along with two years of professional experience as a Social Worker, particularly with individuals who have Intellectual Disabilities.

Additional Skills

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and Google G Suite is necessary. Demonstrated skills in data entry and database management are also essential.
