Position Summary

This pivotal role involves delivering after-sales and warranty services, which encompass installations, troubleshooting, contract servicing, calibration, and customer training for our extensive range of servo-hydraulic and electro-mechanical products. The position is designated for our southern region and operates remotely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on all Buehler product lines in the field, which includes:
    • Utilizing schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals
    • Troubleshooting issues
    • Providing quotes
    • Disassembling, replacing, or repairing defective components
    • Rewiring electronic systems
    • Testing, adjusting, and calibrating equipment
  • Offer remote technical assistance via phone and ticketing systems, guiding clients through simple fixes and recommending spare parts
  • Manage part inventory effectively
  • Complete necessary documentation to support service activities
  • Provide feedback to Engineering regarding product serviceability to aid in new product development
  • Share insights with engineering on common repairs to enhance quality
  • Contribute to service manuals
  • Create training materials for distributors and fellow technicians
  • Oversee travel expenses in accordance with ITW guidelines
  • Keep the Service Manager informed of activities, changes, and customer feedback
  • Drive company growth by identifying sales opportunities and recommending products/services to clients
  • Act as a positive representative for Buehler in all customer interactions
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in electronics, mechanical, or a related field, plus one year of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of five years of experience in field-based maintenance and troubleshooting of electronic instrumentation or similar equipment at the component level
  • Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Proficiency in using various hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including outside of standard business hours
  • Professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and solve problems in a dynamic environment
  • Strong organizational skills with a self-motivated and adaptable approach to work
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Willingness to travel (80%); both local and air travel required
Work Environment
  • Routine walking, bending, kneeling, and squatting, as well as sitting, standing, reaching, and twisting
  • Ability to perform work from floor level to above shoulder height
  • Capability to lift, lower, and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Climbing ladders and/or scaffolds and working at heights
  • Crouching, stooping, or squatting to work inside or under equipment, or maneuvering through low headroom areas
  • Regular pushing, pulling, grasping, and manual dexterity in the use of hands, arms, and shoulders
  • Ability to push/pull wheeled transporters and/or palletized products using up to approximately 50 lbs. of force
