This position allows for remote work from anywhere along the East Coast, with a preference for candidates in Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania.

The Construction Project Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the establishment of new JD Sports retail locations and its affiliates. This position is centered on New Store Openings, Expansions, and Renovations across North America. Reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager, the individual will manage the comprehensive Capital Project lifecycle, ensuring seamless collaboration among the JD Group Teams: Design, Projects, Cost, Procurement, as well as external contractors and vendors. Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate, oversee, and manage the sanctioned capital budget for each initiative in conjunction with the Cost Management Team.
  • Collaborate closely with the broader Projects Team to deliver progress updates, proposals, requirement documents, and presentations as necessary.
  • Engage effectively with the Project & Design teams, consistently evaluating and enhancing processes.
  • Proactively address changes in project scope, identifying potential risks and devising contingency strategies as needed.
  • Evaluate General Contractor bids alongside the Cost Manager/Cost Team to select the appropriate contractor for each project and establish the overall timeline.
  • Work in partnership with other Project team members, suppliers, and contractors to ensure accountability for their designated tasks and timely completion.
  • Manage incoming requests for information (RFIs) during the bidding phase and throughout construction, ensuring prompt and accurate responses to facilitate project progression.
  • Assess and process change order proposals, proposal requests, supplemental instructions, and other contractual documents.
  • Ensure the Architect of Record (AOR) has all necessary design components, including internal and vendor markups/shop drawings, integrated into the bid package.
  • Coordinate with tenant design, operational, and technical teams to guarantee precision in the development of tenant construction documents and build-out.
  • Lead weekly construction progress meetings, including the preparation of meeting minutes, schedule updates, change order logs, and communications to the broader team.
  • Accountable for collaborating with general contractors to deliver projects on schedule and within budget, adhering to JD standards.
  • Document and track all owner-supplied material submissions, such as shop drawings and finish selections, for approval.
  • Conduct multiple site visits throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Undertake additional duties and projects as necessary.

Experience and Skills

  • Proficient understanding of Retail Construction and extensive experience in the New Store Opening process.
  • Prior experience in Project Management.
  • Ability to manage several concurrent projects while maintaining budgetary constraints and high standards.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capability to adapt to real-time situations and adjust accordingly.
  • Self-driven and motivated, yet able to work collaboratively within a team.

Required Education and Experience

A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in engineering, architecture, or construction project management from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience is required. A minimum of 4 years of experience in construction, store facilities, and maintenance, or a design role within a specialty retail environment is essential.

Technical Skills

Intermediate proficiency with Google and Microsoft Office applications is required. Familiarity with Smartsheets, Excel, and various web-based project management tools is advantageous.

  • In-depth knowledge of tenant-improvement construction sequencing and timelines to formulate construction phasing plans and strategies.
  • Ability to assess and inform on Landlord Construction exhibits; mall/center design criteria; core/shell structural considerations relevant to Finish Line's intended designs; MEP and energy systems and requirements.
  • Ability to convey and communicate technical construction aspects of potential projects to other departments and teams: develop project timelines; identify Landlord delivery requirements, risks, and trade-offs; review and inform capital budgets.

  • Willingness to travel approximately 40% of the time by land and air.

The company reserves the right to modify this job description at any time. Employees may be required to perform additional duties outside of their normal job scope on a temporary basis as per company policy. Salary range for this position is $100,000-$110,000, with a 10% bonus target. This role is eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401k, sick leave, parental leave, and a company-paid time off plan.
