Key Responsibilities:
  • Medication Administration: Verify the identity of residents receiving medication, record the name of the drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms, and present medication to residents while observing ingestion or other application.
  • Medical Record Keeping: Document reasons prescribed drugs are not administered and maintain accurate records of medication inventories.
  • Vital Sign Monitoring: Take vital signs or observe residents to detect responses to specified types of medications and prepare reports.
  • Supply Management: Receive and restock medication supplies, and apportion, mix, or assemble drugs for administration to residents.
Requirements:
  • Certification and Experience: Certified Nursing Assistant for one year and successful completion of training approved by the State for Certified Medication Assistants.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Ability to understand, plan, and carry out care plans and treatments, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
