Job Summary

The Unit Coordinator LPN plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the unit, working closely with the Unit Manager to maintain a safe and efficient environment. This position acts as a resource for Nurses and Nursing Assistants, providing support and guidance to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a positive and professional representation of the organization, promoting a culture of safety and excellence.
  • Assist with staffing and scheduling activities, ensuring minimum staffing standards are met at all times.
  • Conduct quality audits, logs, and checklists as assigned, ensuring accurate and complete documentation of care.
  • Provide staff education, consultation, and oversight based on facility policy, planned or identified needs, and regulatory guidance.
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, room changes, hospital transfers or returns as needed, ensuring a seamless transition for residents.
  • Oversee medical supply inventory and ordering of supplies, ensuring timely delivery and availability.
  • Conduct rounds throughout the shift to ensure quality resident care is performed, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, family members, and other disciplines or healthcare professionals, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment.
Requirements
  • Current LPN license by the Mississippi Board of Nursing.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting, and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position.
  • Ability to lift and carry in excess of 50 pounds.
