Job Summary

The Unit Coordinator LPN plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the unit, working closely with the Unit Manager to maintain a safe and efficient environment. This position acts as a resource for Nurses and Nursing Assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications
  • Current LPN license by the Mississippi Board of Nursing
  • Ability to read, write, and understand written and verbal communication
Organizational Expectations and Professional Responsibilities
  • Provide a positive and professional representation of the organization
  • Promote a culture of safety through reporting, documentation, prevention, and infection control
  • Maintain competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and development in related scope of job role or practice
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement activities
  • Maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory policies and practices
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service through attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization
  • Adhere to the scope of LPN practice as outlined by the MS Board of Nursing
  • Supervise and support the LPN and Nurse Assistant
  • Adapt to change and prioritize work
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance, reports on time and is ready to work at the beginning of shift
  • Complete assigned duties, willingly accept assignments, and assist others to complete work on time
  • Willing to support unit's staffing needs by occasionally adjusting work schedule, staying late or working additional time
  • Establish a safe, supportive work environment that promotes teamwork
  • Establish a safe, compassionate, caring environment for residents and their family
Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position

Ability to lift and carry in excess of 50 pounds
