Position Overview:

The Quality Assurance Analyst will provide expert technical support for the Quality Control Inspection sector. This role involves training others in quality control testing and inspection methodologies while making informed decisions regarding product and process acceptability. The analyst will recommend suitable testing and measurement instruments and coordinate equipment calibration. The position may require work in specialized environments, including cleanrooms and low-light settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and clarify ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) requirements relevant to the organization’s products, processes, and services.
  • Analyze optical and mechanical drawings, specifications, standards, purchase orders, and contracts to extract critical information for quality assurance support and risk assessment.
  • Conduct cleaning, inspection, and evaluation of products to ensure compliance with specifications and requirements.
  • Lead and engage in internal audits and serve as an escort during external audits.
  • Provide quality assurance engineering support for production, prototypes, and engineering projects, including risk assessments, quality and testing plans, inspection and testing, data collection and analysis, sample submissions, performance reporting, and project closure.
  • Select and calibrate inspection and testing equipment, collaborating with suppliers as necessary.
  • Evaluate gage system status and effectiveness.
  • Make final determinations regarding product acceptability.
  • Review, manage, and process Return Material Authorizations (RMAs).
  • Lead and participate in Design of Experiments (DOEs), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEAs), Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design Verification Testing (DVT), and other related activities.
  • Train team members on the use of inspection and measurement tools, testing methodologies, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and other relevant topics.
  • Draft inspection guidelines and quality/test plans, including procedures for using testing and measurement equipment that require customer approval.
  • Coordinate environmental, durability, reliability, and other testing as required.
  • Assemble and submit First Article Inspection (FAI) and other sample packages.
  • Review and approve supplier FAI and other sample submissions.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to enhance and manage the supplier base.
  • Issue, oversee, validate, and close Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
  • Create, manage, and participate in Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Implement and maintain the document control system.
  • Engage professionally with Manufacturing, Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Identify and propose opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with quality control inspection tools and techniques.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office; familiarity with Minitab is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret complex optical and mechanical drawings, standards, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS-9100, AS9102, MIL-STD-810, MIL-PRF-13830, and other relevant standards is preferred.
  • Understanding of government property control is a plus.
  • Experience with testing equipment such as thermal, salt, and humidity chambers is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), FMEA, DVT, DFM, DOE, Gage R&R, Measurement Analysis, SPC, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, DMAIC, PDCA, FAI, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.

  • Moderate travel may be necessary, both domestically and internationally, depending on market demands.
