About the Role

Bernhard LLC is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Central Energy Plant (CEP) and ensuring the efficient management of energy usage across our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze energy usage data to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices to reduce energy consumption.
  • Mentor and train facility staff on energy management strategies and best practices.
  • Manage the Central Energy Plant Operation and Maintenance, including subcontractors, operators, and internal service providers.
  • Oversee the Maintenance Reserve Accounts for the CEP and ensure timely and effective maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with plant operators to optimize plant performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain the Plant Operating Manual to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Assist the Bernhard EPC team with the coordination of engineering, procurement, and construction activities with OMC operations.
  • Coordinate on-site troubleshooting and diagnostic efforts with remote support services team.
Requirements
  • 2-3 years of experience in mechanical construction with a large mechanical subcontractor or MEP design consultant or 2-3 years of management experience in a central plant or facility.
  • Well-versed in building codes and associated standards.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree (ABET Accredited Program).
  • FE preferred.
Travel Requirements

0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles.

Climbing stairs.

Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

Medium work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds.
