Position Overview

ROLE SUMMARY

The Human Resources Manager will oversee and guide the daily operations of the Human Resources (HR) department, which encompasses recruitment and selection of personnel, managing compensation and benefits, and upholding organizational policies and procedures. This role is pivotal in planning, organizing, and executing employee engagement initiatives while addressing employee inquiries and concerns. The HR Manager acts as a bridge between senior management and the workforce, fostering and nurturing the company culture through effective hiring practices and employee relations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Delivering Results

  1. Assess current and future staffing needs by establishing strong relationships with department heads and the executive team.
  2. Oversee the talent acquisition process, which includes sourcing, interviewing, and hiring qualified candidates, particularly for leadership and specialized roles; partner with departmental leaders to identify necessary skills and competencies for open positions.
  3. Design, implement, and manage performance evaluation programs to ensure employees are aware of their job roles and performance expectations.
  4. Develop and maintain job descriptions aligned with the company’s strategic goals and organizational structure.
  5. Enhance and manage the HRIS system to streamline recruiting, onboarding, training, and benefits administration.
  6. Collaborate with management to sustain staff performance through coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  7. Investigate employee grievances and conflicts, facilitating resolutions.
  8. Supervise employee disciplinary processes, terminations, and investigations.
  9. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, reviewing policies to maintain adherence.
  10. Stay informed on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and advancements in human resources and employment law.

Operational Excellence

  1. Regularly evaluate staffing levels.
  2. Guarantee compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations.
  3. Manage and facilitate employee benefits and compensation, including health insurance, bonuses, and paid time off.
  4. Collaborate with management on HR initiatives, including new hire orientation and ongoing staff development.
  5. Coordinate with IT, Accounting, and other relevant departments to ensure employees have the necessary tools for effective job performance.
  6. Perform additional tasks as required by business needs.

Interpersonal Relationships

Foster and maintain collaborative and supportive relationships throughout the organization.

Build and sustain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including external vendors and clients.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Position typically requires on-site presence, Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends.
  • Expertise in employee engagement strategies.
  • Proficient in technology necessary for effective HRIS management and report generation.
  • Consistent access to email is required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional communication abilities.
  • Capability to foster a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration, and teamwork.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

A Bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, organizational development, business, or a related field is required; relevant work experience may be considered as a substitute. HR certification, such as SHRM-CP or PHR, is preferred.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in human resources administration is preferred. Previous experience managing HRIS systems is essential. Familiarity with Paylocity software is advantageous.

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS

  • Normal overtime or extended work hours may be necessary.
  • Ability to physically audit and inspect all operations is required.
