ROLE SUMMARY:

The Lead Financial Analyst is responsible for delivering timely financial and statistical reporting and analysis to support leadership, healthcare providers, and internal departments in strategic and operational decision-making processes. This includes provider compensation, continuous improvement initiatives, and ad-hoc data requests. The role involves conducting in-depth data and trend analysis utilizing various data sources for reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. Collaboration with external partners and regulatory agencies is essential for preparing cost reports, grant financial statements, and fulfilling special requests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gather, summarize, and interpret financial data, providing valuable analytical insights and presenting information in an accessible format for stakeholders.
  • Examine raw data to ensure its integrity, identifying and rectifying errors or discrepancies.
  • Develop financial models and conduct business analyses for the organization, including provider compensation frameworks and reimbursement rate modeling.
  • Design methods to assess the financial impact of organizational initiatives, including cost-benefit analyses for new programs or projects.
  • Create and maintain ongoing tracking and reporting systems to measure and document targets and outcomes effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to sound financial modeling practices and consistency in tools developed across the organization to achieve accurate financial and productivity results.
  • Lead complex analysis and reporting projects, providing guidance and collaboration with other Financial Analysts.
  • Support data requests from various internal departments, including Finance, Operations, Human Resources, Quality, and Billing.
  • Assist in the development, preparation, and distribution of customized financial and utilization reports for organizational stakeholders, including the Board of Directors.
  • Participate in audits as necessary.
  • Contribute to the annual budget development process, including budget analysis.
  • Assist in preparing cost reports, grant financial reports, and other special financial documents.
  • Help document and monitor internal controls and standard operating procedures for the department.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Financial Analyst Manager and Director of Finance.
  • Engage as a member of the Finance team and attend all required departmental and all-staff meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a financial analyst or in a related role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in healthcare or human services organizations is preferred, along with a solid understanding of financial management principles. Candidates should possess knowledge of financial and budgetary practices to assist in annual budget development, analyze and report on financial data and trends, and prepare financial statements. Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement practices is also preferred.
