POSITION SUMMARY: The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor oversees a maintenance facility under the guidance of a Maintenance Manager. This role involves supervising a team of technicians responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs of a fleet, machinery supporting a post-collection facility, and equipment servicing the container shop. The Supervisor ensures that all repairs and maintenance of equipment, including trucks (diesel and alternative fuel), containers, and other heavy-duty machinery, comply with company safety standards and all federal and state regulations. The Supervisor is tasked with planning and scheduling repair work to ensure safety and timeliness, thereby minimizing lost productivity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct A, B, and C level technicians to ensure all maintenance work is executed safely and efficiently.
- Monitor operational performance and efficiency, taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Report performance metrics to management and recommend process improvements.
- Supervise maintenance shop operations, including conducting daily meetings, coaching technicians, and managing hiring and training processes.
- Inspect external repairs to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Identify training needs and address performance issues constructively.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure adherence to safety and compliance protocols.
- Oversee complex repair diagnostics and provide necessary coaching.
- Manage inventory control for the maintenance shop, ensuring budget compliance.
- Maintain advanced knowledge of various vehicle systems to perform effective maintenance and repairs.
- Handle administrative tasks related to team management, including payroll and maintenance records.
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification.
- Certifications in T3 Drive, T4 Brake, T5 Suspension and Steering, T6 Electrical/Electronic, and T7 HVAC Systems.
