Senior Electrical Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive electrical engineering designs for power and industrial initiatives.
  • Assist in defining project scope and cost estimation.
  • Contribute to project budgeting and scheduling.
  • Oversee and manage design financials.
  • Conduct electrical system analyses and calculations, including load flow, short circuit assessments, relay coordination, arc flash evaluations, grounding, and lightning protection system designs.
  • Draft engineering reports, tender documents, and construction drawings.
  • Formulate equipment specifications and selections, and perform technical evaluations of bids with recommendations.
  • Create layouts for power distribution, grounding, and lightning protection systems.
  • Design wiring diagrams, single-line and three-line diagrams, as well as schematic representations.
  • Determine specifications and sizes for electrical equipment.
  • Develop designs for high voltage substations, including physical layouts and protection/control systems.
  • Support field construction, commissioning activities, and vendor factory acceptance testing.
  • Collaborate effectively with various disciplines on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Possess a strong understanding of NEC, ANSI, and IEEE standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 10-20 years of experience for senior roles.
  • 5-9 years of experience for mid-level roles.
  • 2-5 years of experience for junior roles.
  • Demonstrated engineering design expertise in power systems, industrial applications, and high voltage substations (AIS and GIS).
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant codes and standards (NEC, ANSI/IEEE).
  • Proven leadership abilities to guide projects and engineering teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills with an emphasis on client relations.
  • Possession of a valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the US or an NCEES record.
  • Experience in sizing, specifying, and selecting equipment (transformers, generators, motors, HV substation components, AIS and GIS layouts, conductor and bus bar sizing/selection, and material choices).
  • Proficient in developing one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and schematic diagrams.
  • Experienced in conducting power system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, relay coordination, grounding/lightning protection).
  • Familiarity with power system analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, Easy Power, and CDEGS.
