About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer - Suspension Specialist to join our team at PACCAR. As a key member of our Core Suspension group, you will be responsible for designing and developing heavy-duty truck suspensions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the design and development of heavy-duty truck suspensions, including front and rear suspensions, axles, brakes, outer-ends, power steering, fifth wheels, and end-of-frame.
  • Manage suspension-related projects from cradle to grave, including Requests for Engineering Information (REIs), regulation changes, Plant Liaison Requests (PLRs), field service, and OAR support.
  • Gain a broad knowledge of the project release process by working with internal and external organizations.
Requirements
  • BSME required; Masters degree in business or engineering and P.E. certificate preferred.
  • 0-1 years of experience in the specification and design of complex automotive components or related experience required; proficiency using Creo or other solids modeling software preferred.
  • Past experience working onsite at a PACCAR facility preferred.
  • Competence in the use of personal computer software such as word processing, database, and spreadsheets.
  • Familiarity with project management methods and tools.
  • Candidate should be willing to make use of engineering processes and techniques and be resourceful in solving complex technical problems.
  • Requires independent judgment and effective project management.
  • Ability to manage costs, time, and resources; strong communication skills.
