Job Summary

The Academy of Warren is seeking an experienced Executive Director of Investigations to lead our Office of Accountability and Whistleblower Protection (OAWP). This critical role will oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures for intake and investigations, ensuring fair, timely, and thorough investigations are conducted with the highest degree of integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Policy Development and Implementation: Direct oversight of advisory, analyses, and strategic development of OAWP policies and procedures regarding intake and investigations.
  2. Investigation Oversight: Ensures fair, timely, and thorough investigations are conducted according to established procedures and policies.
  3. Legislative Review: Reviews proposed legislation and enacted laws, regulations, executive orders, and related documents, implementing appropriate action affecting OAWP investigatory functions.
  4. Representation and Communication: Represents the Assistant Secretary in confidential, sensitive, and complex meetings with employees, media, and Congress, developing and presenting briefings and/or reports, and may be required to testify to Congress.
  5. Leadership and Management: Oversees and leads a large staff of attorneys, investigators, and analysts as they establish national-level policy and procedures and implement the Accountability Act.
  6. Strategic Leadership: Participates as a member of OAWP's senior leadership, assisting in the execution of OAWP's strategy and goals to meet its mission.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in investigations, policy development, and leadership, with experience in a similar role. A bachelor's degree in a related field is required, and a master's degree or higher is preferred.
