Position Overview:
This role is situated within the Office of Accountability and Whistleblower Protection (OAWP) and is accountable to the Deputy Assistant Secretary for OAWP.
Key Responsibilities:
The duties encompass, but are not limited to:
- Leadership: Provide direct oversight of advisory functions, analytical assessments, and strategic formulation of OAWP policies and procedures concerning intake and investigations.
- Integrity Assurance: Guarantee that investigations are conducted fairly, promptly, and comprehensively in accordance with established protocols and policies, maintaining the utmost integrity.
- Legislative Review: Analyze proposed legislation and enacted laws, regulations, executive orders, and related documents, implementing necessary actions that impact OAWP's investigatory functions.
- Representation: Act as the representative of the Assistant Secretary in confidential, sensitive, and complex discussions with stakeholders, including employees, media, and legislative bodies, by preparing and delivering briefings and reports, and may be required to provide testimony.
- Team Leadership: Oversee and guide a substantial team of over 80 professionals, including attorneys, investigators, and analysts, as they develop national-level policies and procedures and execute the Accountability Act.
- Strategic Participation: Engage as a member of OAWP's senior leadership team, contributing to the execution of OAWP's strategic objectives and goals to fulfill its mission.
