Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Executive Director to lead the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA). The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the policies set by the Board of Directors and serving as the chief executive officer of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and vision for FLEOA, aligning the organization's goals and objectives with its mission and values.
  2. Organizational Governance: Serve as the chief governance officer, providing guidance and support to the Board of Directors, and ensuring the effective implementation of policies and procedures.
  3. Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of FLEOA, including human resources, finance, and administration.
  4. Communication and Marketing: Develop and implement effective communication and marketing strategies to promote FLEOA's mission and goals.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies, government officials, and the public.
Qualifications
  1. A Bachelor's Degree required, an advanced degree a plus.
  2. 15+ years of extensive experience in progressively responsible management/executive positions; professional experience with a nonprofit organization is strongly preferred.
  3. Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the policing profession and must possess a strong commitment to the FLEOA vision and mission.
  4. Must possess strong business acumen with demonstrated knowledge of contemporary fundraising/communication strategies.
  5. Must have experience with budget development and compliance.
  6. Must possess strong strategic thinking skills and analytical capabilities.
  7. Must possess strong communication skills and have experience working with the media.
  8. Must be willing to travel.
  9. Must be able to lead a diverse group towards a common goal while still listening to Directors' and stakeholders' needs.
  10. Must have a high reputation as an unbiased leader with a proven track record of success.
  11. Must exude strength of character and the highest standards of integrity, and not possess a criminal history.
  12. Must be results-oriented with superior organizational, managerial, and interpersonal skills.
  13. Must have demonstrated ability to initiate and execute new concepts and ideas.
  14. Must have proficient computer skills.
  15. Must have proficient writing skills.
Compensation and Benefits
  • This is a full-time, exempt position. Salary range is $130,000 - $150,000 based on experience.
