The Computer Systems Assembly Specialist plays a crucial role in the precise, efficient, and timely assembly and configuration of computer systems, servers, laptops, and other computing solutions as dictated by sales requirements. This position demands expertise in both hardware assembly and software installation, along with 1-2 years of experience in deploying Microsoft software using tools such as Microsoft DISM, WDS, Acronis, and similar imaging solutions. Our fast-paced environment requires a technician who ensures accuracy in all departmental processes.

The ideal candidate will possess at least 1 year of proven experience in the assembly and configuration of computer systems within a manufacturing context. A solid understanding of Microsoft and Linux operating systems (preferably Ubuntu, Red Hat, or similar) is highly desirable. The Computer Systems Assembly Specialist should also have a strong foundation in software implementation, functionality, and troubleshooting.

Previous experience in roles such as computer production, assembly, repair, or IT support is advantageous.

This role involves direct interaction with customers, providing technical support through various channels including phone and in-person assistance. Delivering an exceptional customer experience and maintaining high levels of customer engagement are essential for our team's success. Additionally, the role includes active assembly, configuration, and repair of both warranty and non-warranty products, directly influencing the customer satisfaction levels experienced by our partners and clients.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of successful experience in the assembly and configuration of computer systems, preferably in a dynamic environment.
  • CompTIA A+ certification is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced computer configuration setting while maintaining a positive demeanor and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer hardware and components, including server and workstation technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft, Linux, and other relevant software applications.
  • 1-2 years of experience in configuring computer hardware and software in a production and manufacturing environment.
  • 1-2 years of experience in imaging Windows and other operating systems over a LAN.
  • Familiarity with imaging tools such as CloneZilla and Acronis is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods.
  • Positive and energetic attitude.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely assembly and configuration of computers, servers, laptops, and related products as required by operational needs.
  • Maintain positive and professional interactions across departments.
  • Meet company objectives regarding productivity and profitability.
  • Provide technical support to customers, demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
  • Commit to ongoing learning and expertise in the computer hardware industry.
  • Troubleshoot and execute advanced technical tasks.
  • Prepare, stage, and serialize upcoming production orders.
  • Test and repair products and systems through the RMA process.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Technical Production Lead or Manager.

Reporting Structure

  • The Computer Systems Assembly Specialist will report directly to the Technical Production Manager.

Work Schedule

  • This is a full-time position requiring 40+ hours per week, with hours subject to operational needs.
