The ideal candidate will possess a strong focus on process optimization and a keen awareness of system security considerations to mitigate production vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing and managing installed development systems and infrastructure
  • Setting up, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools
  • Ensuring high levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Contributing to the design of information and operational support systems
  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and upgrading existing systems
  • Deploying programs and assessing user feedback
  • Documenting deployment procedures
  • Creating infrastructure diagrams to facilitate clear communication and understanding of deployment infrastructure
  • Identifying potential issues and implementing proactive solutions, engaging resources from architecture and management as necessary to ensure proper visibility of changes

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Linux administration
    • Proficiency in bash scripting
    • Solid experience in at least one additional scripting language (e.g., Ruby, Groovy, JavaScript, etc.)
    • Ability to utilize scripting for various tasks, including automation, enhancing software functionality, configuration, and data extraction
  • Practical knowledge of Docker with hands-on experience
  • Prior experience with virtual machine management, preferably VMWare
  • Comprehensive understanding of Kubernetes
  • Ability to operate within Container as a Service (CaaS) infrastructure
  • Strong networking knowledge
  • Experience in facilitating transitions to operations teams for deployment to staging and production environments

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Networking, or a related field
  • Familiarity with Ansible
  • Knowledge of Python and/or Perl
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef, cfengine)
  • Familiarity with Splunk

Required Skills:
• A solid foundation in Linux Administration with 5 - 8 years of experience
• Preferred scripting language is Bash; familiarity with other scripting languages like Groovy, Ruby, or JavaScript is a plus
• Experience in transitioning teams or organizations to more automated processes is highly valued
• Proficiency in Kubernetes and Docker
• A background in security is preferred over networking; one of the two is essential
• Experience with Splunk is advantageous (familiarity with Datadog or ElasticSearch is acceptable)
