Job Summary

Michaels Stores is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to lead our store operations and drive sales and profits. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, managing inventory, and leading a team of well-trained team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Store Manager in planning and executing store workload, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Lead and manage adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Support and participate in truck unloading and stocking processes, ensuring truck standards are followed and completed within budget.
  • Achieve individual and team KPIs, managing inventory and merchandise operations to drive sales and profits.
  • Manage visual merchandising standards, executing feature space and seasonal layouts to drive customer engagement.
  • Lead and execute inventory management processes, ensuring accurate and efficient inventory management.
  • Manage and execute shrink and safety programs, ensuring a safe and secure store environment.
  • Train, observe, and coach team members to achieve results, participating in performance management and talent development.
  • Interact with customers in a positive and respectful manner, providing solutions and ensuring a customer-centric shopping experience.
  • Assist with Omni-channel processes, ensuring seamless customer experience across all channels.
Requirements
  • Retail management leadership experience, with a proven track record of driving sales and profits.
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods, move throughout the store, and perform regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
  • Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
Work Environment
  • Public retail store setting, with climate-controlled public areas and some stock rooms that may not be climate-controlled.
  • Some outdoor work may be required, such as retrieving shopping carts or unloading trucks.
