About the Role

Holmes Murphy & Associates, a leading insurance brokerage firm, is seeking a highly skilled Client Service Consultant to join our Property & Casualty team in Minneapolis, MN. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling a book of business for assigned clients, evaluating their needs and risks, and assisting them in creating an insurance program tailored to their specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Service: Independently perform daily tasks to efficiently manage client service, including renewal marketing and placement of insurance for assigned clients, as well as responding to daily client service needs.
  • Account Management: Work accounts start to finish, with some support from Client Service Specialists and/or Client Managers.
  • Policy Administration: Prepare certificates, binders, auto ID cards, and accident kits.
  • Carrier Relations: Attend insurance carrier meetings, order policy changes, update computer systems, and set follow-up activities.
  • Endorsement Processing: Process endorsements by checking coverages, invoicing, and updating client management systems.
  • Follow-up Activities: Keep follow-up activities current.
  • Audit Reviews: Review, process, and summarize audits.
  • Investigations: Investigate and correct omitted items and commission differences on audits and endorsements.
  • Account Accuracy: Ensure account and policy accuracy by verifying customer information and items received from carriers.
  • Reporting: Maintain monthly reporting forms.
  • Account Ownership: Take ownership and lead accounts.
  • Pre-Renewal Meetings: Meet with the team for pre-renewal meetings on qualifying accounts and development of client opportunities.
  • Client Renewals: Attend client renewal meetings, as required.
  • Consultation: Consult with clients on coverage needs.
  • Contract Review: Participate in contract review.
  • Renewal Marketing: Market renewal policies and negotiate with insurance company underwriters.
  • Quote Review: Review quotes on accounts for accuracy and prepare proposal documents for clients.
  • Client Renewal Documents: Prepare client renewal documents and save them to the agency management system.
  • Agency Billing: Invoice agency bill transactions for new and renewal policies, monthly installments, endorsements, and audits.
  • Team Collaboration: Develop and maintain positive work relationships with team members, including providing backup, communicating information, and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Train and mentor Client Service Specialists as needed, provide direction on shared accounts, and share knowledge through various platforms.
  • Special Projects: Perform special projects and other duties as requested.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma; college degree preferred. Active state-specific Property Casualty Insurance agent's license required or the ability to acquire license within three months of hire.
  • Experience: Minimum 3+ years of customer service, underwriting, or risk management experience in the insurance industry.
