Position Summary

The Packaging Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the sanitation and functionality of all packaging machinery, ensuring optimal quality and efficiency in our production processes. This position requires flexibility to work various shifts within a 24-hour operational framework.

Shift Schedule

Our operations follow a 4x10 work schedule, consisting of four 10-hour shifts each week.

  • 3rd Shift Hours: Monday - Thursday, 10 PM - 8:30 AM

Key Responsibilities

As the Packaging Operations Supervisor, you will:

  • Oversee all packaging processes to ensure consistent, high-quality output of our products.
  • Collaborate with the Packaging Manager to efficiently plan and execute packaging schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe packaging environment.
  • Assist in the development and training of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and inventory management systems.
  • Monitor and verify inventory levels of packaging and sanitation materials.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in packaging and sanitation processes, including the enhancement of existing protocols and the introduction of new methods.
  • Identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
  • Prepare and submit accurate reports as required.

Team Leadership

In this role, you will also:

  • Support the performance management and accountability of the Sanitation and Packaging Team.
  • Assist in conducting regular performance evaluations for team members.
  • Work with the Packaging Manager to assess staffing requirements and fulfill those needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations for all team members.
  • Help develop and manage safety training and cross-training programs.
  • Foster skill development among team members to prepare them for increased responsibilities.
  • Engage in daily discussions regarding safety topics and investigate any safety incidents.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects related to packaging, including 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a high-speed manufacturing setting, particularly in beverage packaging, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Experience with filling processes for bottles, cans, or kegs is preferred. Forklift operation experience is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; familiarity with Ignition program and AX is advantageous.
  • Certifications: Lean/Six Sigma certification or relevant experience is preferred.
  • Language Proficiency: Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Travel: Occasional travel may be required for visits to other facilities and events.
