The Ski and Ride School Customer Service Representative plays a crucial role in assisting guests with understanding and purchasing the appropriate Ski and Ride School products. This position is the first point of contact for guests, welcoming them and checking in those with pre-arranged bookings. Additionally, this role involves providing customer service and selling lift tickets while addressing general inquiries about the resort.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage various payment methods, including cash, checks, credit cards, gift certificates, and promotions, ensuring accuracy and accountability through detailed tracking.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of Ski and Ride School product pricing, purposes, and target demographics, as well as general knowledge of resort offerings and events.
  • Welcome guests to Jay Peak and the Ski & Ride School, guiding them on how to maximize their experience at our resort.
  • Check in pre-registered guests, ensuring they are informed about the specific processes related to their booked experiences.
  • Assess each guest's needs based on age, skill level, duration of stay, budget, and overall goals to recommend suitable Ski and Ride School experiences.
  • Book both same-day and advance reservations for ski and ride school, ensuring all critical information is included for a successful guest experience.
  • Ensure all Ski and Ride School participants complete and sign the Assumption of Risk form.
  • Track and manage lift tickets and payments for students, chaperones, and schools participating in the Foundations Program.
  • Act as a customer service representative, assisting guests with navigating the resort and its offerings, while also selling retail and discounted lift tickets.
  • Provide information about ski and snowboard rental products to guests.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks within the school, including reporting, tracking, payroll, and distribution of materials such as paychecks and name tags.
  • Serve as a central information hub for both staff and guests, staying informed about lift and trail conditions, weather forecasts, and resort events.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Intermediate computer skills are required, including proficiency in reservation systems (Sirus, Intopia, Flaik) and basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Strong interpersonal skills and empathy are essential, as the role involves frequent interaction with guests and staff. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and focus on delivering positive guest experiences is crucial.
