Job Overview

Career Services Coordinator

As a Career Services Coordinator, you will collaborate with dedicated educators and campus staff to foster an enriching environment that empowers our students across Texas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture strong connections with local and regional employers, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and community partners to uncover job opportunities for students and alumni.
  • Design and execute strategic plans aimed at achieving employment objectives for graduates.
  • Conduct site visits to strengthen existing employer relationships and explore new partnership possibilities.
  • Identify and maintain new employment sites, ensuring effective communication with employers and coordinating placement activities, including resume submissions and interviews. Document all employer engagement in the Student Administrative System.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of job opportunities and a resource library that includes career guidance materials and employment literature.
  • Organize panel discussions featuring industry experts for student and graduate participation.
  • Participate in industry networking events to expand the potential employer database.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops focused on job search strategies for students and alumni.
  • Coordinate and attend Job/Career Fairs, as well as participate in campus and off-campus events.
  • Stay informed about employment and industry trends, sharing insights with the Career Services and Education departments as needed.
  • Keep in touch with graduates through follow-up communications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree with five years of relevant experience preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of practical work experience is required.
  • Experience in career services is preferred, or a background in job placement within vocational schools, colleges, universities, staffing agencies, recruitment, government sponsorship, or marketing/sales.
  • Access to reliable transportation and a willingness to travel.
  • Familiarity with the local job market is essential.
