DLP Services is seeking a dedicated and reliable Custodial Specialist to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of our federal installation and surrounding grounds. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all.
Essential Job Functions- Perform thorough cleaning tasks including vacuuming, wet mopping, sweeping, dusting, and emptying trash receptacles (lifting up to 55 pounds).
- Maintain restrooms by cleaning and disinfecting fixtures such as urinals, toilets, sinks, mirrors, partitions, and counters.
- Replenish restroom supplies, including dispensers and paper products.
- Clean windows and door glass to ensure clarity and visibility.
- Be flexible and available to work overtime and weekends as needed to accommodate events and facility schedules.
- Demonstrate physical stamina by frequently walking up and down stairs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
This position reports to the Shift Supervisor. While this role does not have formal supervisory responsibilities, it requires the ability to work independently and efficiently complete tasks without constant supervision.
Working ConditionsThe Custodial Specialist primarily works in an indoor and outdoor environment. The job involves prolonged standing and walking while cleaning and sanitizing areas.
Physical demands include frequent stepping, stooping, crawling, climbing, lifting, bending, kneeling, pulling, and pushing objects weighing up to 55 pounds.
Safety precautions are essential due to potential hazards and physical risks associated with the work environment.
The role may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, cleaning chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
Alcohol and Drug Testing PolicyThis position is subject to DLP Services LLC's Drug-Free Workplace Policy, which includes Post-Accident Testing, Random Testing, and/or Reasonable Suspicion Testing.
Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in the janitorial industry.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Strong reading comprehension skills.
- Proficiency in following safety procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance through effective grooming practices.
- Ability to operate electronic devices for clocking in/out procedures.
- Experience operating vacuums and other related cleaning equipment.
- Knowledge of safe handling and use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Physical strength and ability to lift, push/pull, and manipulate heavy objects up to 55 pounds.
- Valid Texas Driver's License Class C.
