Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Foster Care Eligibility Specialist II to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services.

As a Foster Care Eligibility Specialist II, you will play a critical role in determining and certifying eligibility for foster care, Medical Assistance Only, and Adoption Assistance in the Child Protective Services program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Determine eligibility on initial applications and re-determine eligibility and/or re-certifications on subsequent applications and reviews.
• Provide assistance to clients and staff in resolving payment issues, including reviewing ALOC/BLOC.
• Research, document, and provide assistance to foster parents, adoptive parents, staff, and providers to resolve Medicaid issues.
• Research, document, and update court-ordered child support information for children in the Title IV-E program or state-paid foster care.
• Prepare and maintain eligibility and adoption assistance files.
• Prepare training materials for instructing service delivery workers or other agency staff in eligibility requirements.
• Promote and demonstrate respect for cultural diversity among coworkers and all work-related contacts.
• Perform other duties as assigned and required to maintain unit operations.
• Attend work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Knowledge of and experience working on IMPACT.
• Knowledge and experience working with TANF or Medicaid.
• Good communication skills and computer skills.
