Position Overview:

Our team is in search of a Manufacturing Solutions Engineer to spearhead our digital transformation initiatives. This role will involve the design, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of manufacturing solutions including Statistical Process Control (SPC), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Internet of Things (IoT), and Data Analytics.

The Manufacturing Systems Solutions Group is committed to achieving operational excellence across our global manufacturing operations by utilizing advanced digital platforms and technologies. Our goal is to identify the operational needs of our stakeholders across various business units and to create and implement globally standardized solutions that enhance efficiency, productivity, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership: Lead the discovery, design, and implementation of technical solutions with a keen understanding of manufacturing requirements and system capabilities to address challenges and deliver value.

  • Assist end users in identifying capability gaps, quantifying potential value, and articulating desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with various Entegris teams, including process, manufacturing, and quality engineers, as well as IT and external vendors, to analyze and provide technical solutions that fulfill identified needs.
  • Ensure that solutions comply with regulatory standards and internal guidelines for usability, data integrity, and cybersecurity.
  • Resolve issues encountered by internal and external customers in collaboration with IT and vendors, ensuring sustainable solutions are established to prevent future occurrences.
  • Conduct pilot tests on solutions and propose deployment strategies to achieve established program objectives.

Manufacturing Systems Management: Work within our Operational Excellence Organization to develop, refine, and execute policies related to manufacturing systems such as real-time SPC systems, OEE, MES, and associated modules deployed at manufacturing sites.

  • Ensure that manufacturing systems are effectively implemented, maintained, and compliant with established standards.
  • Manage system modifications, including integration and user acceptance testing.
  • Establish, maintain, and revise global manufacturing system documentation and procedures, ensuring adherence to global standards and practices.
  • Support the installation, upgrades, and enhancements of software and hardware, including the rollout of new application versions or server replacements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits of global manufacturing systems.
  • Provide training on manufacturing systems such as SPC, MES, and related applications to facilitate successful adoption and empower users to resolve issues independently.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a closely related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality, operations, or engineering within a manufacturing context, preferably in the semiconductor sector.
  • Proficient in SPC, MES, LIMS, and ERP systems.
  • Ability to comprehend and digitally represent manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with SQL databases.
  • Quick learner with new software and concepts.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence and a desire to foster a culture of high performance.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of managing and influencing cross-functional teams, while addressing constraints to drive progress and escalate support as needed.
  • Results-oriented mindset focused on value creation for both internal and external customers.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to convey complex ideas using detailed visuals and examples.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with IT, Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams.
  • Understanding of how to identify and execute value improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to assess the impact of manufacturing systems on operations and other stakeholders.
  • Skill in facilitating discussions to identify business opportunities and articulate needs with a focus on outcomes.
  • High attention to detail and awareness of how inaccuracies can affect the business.
  • Capability to understand user experience and create or update training materials.
  • Drive to document manufacturing systems processes and knowledge to support learning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Creative problem-solving skills based on domain knowledge.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project landscapes and prioritize based on business needs.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Proficiency in the Windows platform and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required. Experience in supporting 24/7 manufacturing operations is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Grafana.
  • Familiarity with Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with SCADA systems, including Ignition, GE Proficy, or FactoryTalk View ME/SE.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS.
  • Understanding of data formatting for machine learning applications.
  • Experience with camLine software, BOOMI, High Byte, and industrial network protocols like OPC or MQTT.
