Position Overview:

Our team is looking for a Manufacturing Solutions Engineer to spearhead our digital transformation initiatives. This role will involve the design, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of manufacturing solutions, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Internet of Things (IoT), and Data Analytics.

The Manufacturing Systems Solutions Group is focused on achieving operational excellence across our global manufacturing operations by utilizing digital platforms and technologies. Our goal is to comprehend the operational needs of our stakeholders across various business units and to create and implement globally standardized solutions that enhance efficiency, productivity, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership: Lead the discovery, design, and delivery of technical solutions with a deep understanding of manufacturing requirements and system capabilities to address challenges and add value.

  • Assist end users in identifying capability gaps, quantifying value opportunities, and articulating desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with Entegris personnel, including process, manufacturing, and customer quality engineers, as well as IT and external vendors, to analyze and deliver technical solutions that fulfill identified requirements and provide value to our customers.
  • Ensure that solutions comply with regulatory standards and internal usability, data integrity, and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Resolve issues faced by internal and external customers in collaboration with IT and vendors, ensuring sustainable solutions are implemented to prevent future occurrences.
  • Conduct pilot programs for solutions and propose deployment strategies to achieve established program objectives.

Manufacturing Systems Management: Collaborate within our Operational Excellence Organization to develop, optimize, and execute policies for manufacturing systems such as real-time Statistical Process Control (SPC), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and related modules deployed at manufacturing sites.

  • Ensure that manufacturing systems are effectively implemented, maintained, and compliant with standards.
  • Manage system changes, including integration and user acceptance testing.
  • Establish, maintain, and update global manufacturing system documentation and procedures, adhering to global standards and practices.
  • Support the installation, upgrades, and enhancements of software and hardware, such as new application rollouts or server replacements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits of global manufacturing systems.
  • Provide training on manufacturing systems such as SPC, MES, and related applications to facilitate successful adoption and empower users to resolve issues independently.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a closely related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality, operations, or engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the semiconductor sector.
  • Proficient in SPC, MES, LIMS, and ERP systems.
  • Ability to comprehend and digitally represent manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with SQL databases.
  • Quick learner with new software and concepts.
  • Demonstrated commitment to success and a drive for a culture of excellence.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of managing and influencing across functions, addressing constraints to drive progress, and escalating support as needed.
  • Results-oriented mindset focused on value creation for both internal and external customers.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to convey complex ideas using detailed visuals and examples.
  • Effective collaboration with IT, Operations, Engineering, and Quality Teams.
  • Understanding of how to identify and execute value improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to assess the business impact of manufacturing systems on operations and customers.
  • Skilled in facilitating discussions to clarify business opportunities and articulate needs with a focus on outcomes.
  • High attention to detail and awareness of how inaccuracies can affect the business.
  • Capability to understand end-user usability and create or revise training documentation.
  • Drive to document manufacturing systems processes and knowledge to support learning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Creative problem-solving skills drawing on domain knowledge.
  • Flexibility to adapt to project landscapes and prioritize based on business significance.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with experience supporting 24/7 manufacturing facilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Tableau, PowerBI, or Grafana.
  • Familiarity with Lean and Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Experience with SCADA systems such as Ignition, GE Proficy, or FactoryTalk View ME/SE.
  • Experience with cloud computing services like GCP, Azure, or AWS.
  • Understanding of data formatting for machine learning analyses.
  • Experience with camLine software, BOOMI, High Byte, and industrial network protocols such as OPC or MQTT.
