Engineering Specialist II

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that enables the individual to perform the essential functions of the role.
- A minimum of 10 years in a specific technical discipline or 15 years of broad engineering experience across various technical fields with a Bachelor's degree.
- Experience credit for advanced degrees is limited to 2 years for a Master's and 4 years for a PhD in relevant fields.
Position Objective:
- Facilitates the successful execution of significant engineering projects or initiates research in areas of substantial scope and complexity that support the development and production of company products and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Selects suitable methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to address intricate engineering challenges.
- Recognized as an authority in the field, providing consultation to colleagues and others.
- Proactively identifies and resolves complex issues creatively and effectively, establishing standards and guidelines for various engineering activities.
- Balances technical product requirements, cost considerations, and scheduling in problem-solving approaches.
- Operates with minimal supervision; work is assessed from a long-term perspective for desired outcomes.
- Exhibits discretion in determining technical objectives for assignments, making decisions and recommendations that are acknowledged as authoritative.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of advancements in the specialty field and related aircraft sectors to propose innovations that enhance the quality and effectiveness of company products.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Qualifications:
- An advanced degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
- The level of technical skills and abilities appropriate for this position will be defined by each discipline.
